Edgar Allen Poe EDGAR ALLAN POE Edgar Poe was born in Boston in 1809. His parents were stage actors: his pa was David Poe, and his mom Eliza Arnold. Maybe his parents talent explains why he was so creative. Edgars dad left the family, Eliza, Edgar, his brother Henry and his sister Rosalie, when Edgar was barely two. Then one year later his mom died, release a charge her children orphans. Edgar Poe was then adopted by tooshie Allan. John Allan was a wealthy merchant in Virginia, who increase Edgar and paid his way through grammar and high school. Edgar then enrolled in the University of Virginia.
